4. Team Management

The HydroEurope Project is a study case of the Var River dedicated to the development of flood resilience approach based on 1994 flood data. This project is developed in close collaboration between 6 European countries. The project will take place in the University of Nice during February 2017. Before this date, students are required to do exercises every week in order to familiarize themselves with the software. The training is a preparation for the face to face meeting in February.
This report will be the first Team Management Report of the HydroEurope project. It will contain tasks that have been done during the week: how we organized our team to do the weekly exercises, the technical report and the actual Team Management Report.

HydroEurope will allow us to develop our technical skills with all the software which we will work. But also to bring us skills about the team management with teammates geographically distant.

1/ Before the face to face meeting

The most important thing during HydroEurope is the communication and the organisation. So, we have decided to create a Facebook group
especially for the project. This way of communication remains efficient. Indeed, we can exchange and make more knowledges, discuss about the reports and exercises we need to realize, solve future problems that we might encounter, share documents ...

Moreover, i
t has been decided to create a Google Drive folder to upload files and work on them jointly, especially for the drafting of reports.

To have an efficient work, i
t has been decided that the exercise and team management reports would be done this way: each week, two of us are responsible to write the reports in the Google Drive folder. The others members of the group will review and add elements on reports if necessary.
We made this choice to have more free time for our other courses projects and for interns (3 people of the team).

2/ During the face to face meeting

A/ The first week (13th to 18th February)

During this first week, we have also split the team in small groups.

The table below shows an example of our Teamwork management. Everyday, we update our progress made throughout that day.
