Flood Resilience

    In this exercise the Flood Resilience Index (FRI) are introduced putting apart the traditional flood risk management. The       general idea is to quantify the flood resilience in terms of a common index focusing on the most vulnerable elements.         Two studies have been done for the flood event of 1994 in Nice, one in parcel scale and the other in macro scale. CityCat

    The aim of the CityCat report is to build an urban flood model of the Newcastle centre catchment using the City                      catchment Analysis Tool. First, the current situation of the catchment is studied and after that some adaptations options    have been proposed in order to mitigate the flood in the catchment. IBER

    In Iber's report, the aim is to get familiarized with the software. Two cases were developed using this software. First           Torrencial river in Catalonia and the second Pineda del Mar. The report has been uploaded below. Feel free to download     it and check it out.

MIKE 21

    In this report, we had to work on an open rectangular channel with MIKE 21 modelling software. First we had to build        up the bathymetry file of the channel and then set up the simulation file. For more details, check out the technical                report below.

SHETRAN

    A simplified Var catchment hydrological model was calibrated. Simulation and observation of the flood event were                compared. Effects of land use and/or rainfall change were discussed.

ArcGIS

    In this report the aim was to use ArcHydro. It is one of the ArcGIS's software tool. The Var basin was delimited in sub catchments and for each of them many parameters were extracted. For more details download the file "ArcGIS T07".
