Iber is a tool for 2D hydraulic modeling for rivers and estuaries.

 Inpout :

-       background maps of a small touristic village in northeast Spain called Pineda de Mar.

-       river discharge

-       Digital Terrain Model

Different sets of manning coefficients were assigned to these three regions with each set corresponding to low, medium or high values to see how big an impact manning values have in the simulation. Simulation results are show in the figure below.

It is evident the more widespread flooding can be simulated if higher manning values are used and this is because increasing roughness slows down the speed of flow especially for a flat terrain such as our study area.
